Tokuhon Corporation, founded in 1901, is committed to providing affordable, quality drug products for use at home without concern for lack of efficacy or adverse effects. Tokuhon was named after Dr. Nagata Tokuhon a celebrated medical practitioner of the late Muromachi to early Edo period (about 500 years ago) who was extremely popular for his generosity and dedication to serve ordinary citizens. Our business spirit has its roots in Dr. Nagata Tokuhon’s philosophy of "come down to people to cure".

Our main-stay product "Tokuhon", an anti-inflammatory and analgesic plaster sold since 1933, has become an exceptionally long-seller product and an indispensable item in every household. Over the years, experience from working on Tokuhon products has enabled us to accumulate much knowledge and know how in patch preparations as exemplified by our sophisticated Transdermal Therapeutic System (TTS), successfully applied to commercialization of prescription drug products like "Yakuban Tape".

In July of 2012, Tokuhon Corporation was strategically acquired by Taisho Pharmaceutical Holdings Group. While a new page into the future Tokuhon’s commitment to providing affordable, quality drug products for use at home without concern for lack of efficacy or adverse effects is unchanged. In today’s aging society, keeping in good health is ever more becoming ones’ own responsibility. Tokuhon is convinced that our conviction is well aligned with such intrinsic needs.
